Ground Breaking Ceremony April 2, 2006

Digging Began May 15, 2006
We had to dig an approximately 8' deep x 20' wide trench where the buildings footings will be located.
This was to replace the existing soil with more compactible fill.

The ground has been prepared and we are waiting for some final revisions to our building plan.
Once those revisions are made, we will receive our final permit from the city and construction can begin!

RAIN DELAY
==========================================================
8/30/06

We had a safety training meeting to satisfy some OSHA requirements. The certified Safety Director from Viking Construction led it. Since this is a commercial project, he emphasized the necessity of hard hats, safety glasses, steel toed shoes and long pants for all workers from here on out.
Well, the daily summer Florida rains plus tropical storm "Ernesto" are creating a bit of a glitch for us, so we have decided to hire a crew who can come in and finish, inspect and pour the footings in one day. That should occur before the end of next week.

9/27/06 WAITING for the rain to stop
We've been waiting for our soil to dry out sufficiently to pass the compaction test. It's close to passing, but with frequent rains we have to cover the site with plastic as shown below.
